Art=Work: The Gift Economy, Artists, Community & Sustainability
ETTA International, Community-Photo-Access and Food for Thought Books present:
a Unique Arts Happening and Exchange
ART = WORK
The Gift Economy, Artists, Community & Sustainability
~ for all creative humans ~
Bring a bowl and utensils, a dish to share (if you like) and a gift of art- for giving away: this could be personal art work, anything that you are ready to offer to another, plants, or anything that you would like to give as a gift for our "Give-away" table. Bring more than one thing, if you like, for those who forget! Be ready for a great time of making art and making conversation to build our sustainable arts community!
Please note: This event will be taking place at Etta International in Amherst, not at Food For Thought Books. See address below.
Inspired by Art Work, a newspaper and a call to action, by Temporary Services in Chicago, thousands of FREE papers were distributed in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Although the newspapers are no longer available, a free download is: www.artandwork.us
This conversation/event is a continuation of the initial conversation held at Food For Thought Books in July, sponsored by Valley Art Share, a project of the Commonwealth Center for Change. This month we continue and expand our efforts with a special ART Share Happening to accentuate the theme chosen: The Gift Economy and what that means for Artists and Sustainability. This series of conversations is being held with local community-based arts organizations and supporters of a creative economy.
Other local conversations this summer: Sunday, August 29th 40in @ Earthdance in Plainfield
